Though I have mailed my students paper books and supplemental resources, distance learning has caused many of them to falter in their learning. Many do not have access to technology, books to read, or family members that are able to support them with their work. My students have been told all year that we are a community and a family of learners, readers, and writers. These Kindles will give my students access to books that they can read, to online forums where they can work on assignments and we can interact so that I can provide the support that they need, and also additional programs that I can download that will give them the ability to practice their math and literacy skills.
