I am the Reading Teacher for 3 classes of Fifth graders this year. We plan to explore the world through Reading! They wish to learn and are grateful for any supplies given to them. However many of them are unable to purchase their own supplies. 100% of our students are receiving free or reduced lunch and breakfast daily. There are limits to what our school is able to give them, especially since our school district had to cut $30 million from the district budget last year. This has left us with less staff and minimal supplies. Anything that anyone can do to support these kids will make a huge impact. Most of the parents of my students do not speak English, but they truly desire the best education for their children. They are a special group of students and they, and their families, appreciate any help that they can get.
