These materials will greatly impact student learning in my classroom. A listening center provides a small group, literacy experience that builds comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency skills. My students will get to follow along with the beautifully illustrated books as the story is read to them in an engaging way. This activity supports auditory and visual learners as well as special education and English language learners. Students in groups of 4-5 rotate through a variety of centers including the listening center. After they hear the story, they discuss and/or illustrate story events such as their favorite part, characters, problem, setting, and more. This boosts confidence in their speaking, critical thinking, and writing skills. Everyone benefits from a classroom listening center. Thank you for your support!
