These materials are meant for students to use in order to improve literacy skills. In an effort to motivate students to read and write, I want to provide them with texts they can relate to and directly affect their everyday life. I want to prepare my students for standardized testing including ACT and SAT. Not only will this New York Times Upfront magazine subscription achieve this goal, it will also make the students more aware of what is going on in the world around them, beyond the town they live in. By preparing my students in this way, I am creating competent citizens of the world!

About my class
