These copies of "A Long Walk to Water" and "Wonder" will complete class sets of these novels for my students to read through out the year. These stories feature characters that my students can identify with. The protagonists in these stories are people around the age of my sixth grade students who are facing real world challenges and crises. The characters challenges may be more extreme than my students realities...or maybe not. Learning about how peers have overcome hardship, prejudice, and even war, my students start to put their own struggles as a new middle school student in perspective, and develop coping, problem solving, and helping strategies. I think these books are timeless literature for all students of this age. I want to have a complete set of these books to use over and over in the coming years.
