The best way to get better at reading is by reading. As a kindergarten teacher, it is my mission to develop a love and passion for reading in my students. They each learn the foundations of how to read at their own pace, but what they will each have in common when they leave my class is the desire to read and be read to. The classroom library should be a comfortable and welcoming space that kids are eager to be a part of. My students need more books bins, so they can be part of keeping our space organized. A cozy rug and pillows will help our library be a place of calm in which students can feel comfortable taking risks in their learning.
