Adding two bean bag chairs to my classroom will provide a space for students to go to read and truly engage themselves in their learning. These bean bags will engage students and encourage them to see reading and working as an exciting option rather than a mundane assignment at their desk. The math manipulatives will allow students to be hands-on as their learn basic math principles such as place value. The place value blocks as well as the ten frames serve as a welcomed alternative to simply sitting and listening, but rather working and learning. I would even love to mix these purchases and utilize the bean bags as a flexible seating option not only during reading but also during math as well!
