Often students are reluctant in the math classroom to show their work. Whiteboards, such as the write and wipe graphing boards, and dry-erase markers are one way to make showing work a fun classroom norm. Whiteboards are a versatile way for students to converse mathematically with the teacher and with one another by making their thinking visible. Students will use write and wipe graphing boards to participate in formative assessments that provide immediate feedback during checks for understanding. The boards and dry-erase markers can also be used for independent practice and partnering work. Students will use the write and wipe graphing boards and dry-erase markers to write complete solutions to math problems.
