Reading is a crucial part of a child's education and as a first grade teacher I desire to instill a love for reading in my students at an early age. This past year I began teaching in an already established classroom. The library collection in outstanding; however, there was no place for the students to sit and read. This year I would like to create a reading corner where students can comfortably relax, sit and read. The atmosphere where a student reads is as important as what they choose to read. How they feel while reading will influence their love for books.
