Due to the pandemic and virtual learning, I have found that my students are low especially in phonemic awareness and reading comprehension. Using the listening center will help children receive extra practice in phonemic awareness and reading comprehension. The listening Center will allow children to build on daily instruction and they will be able to work at their own pace. Once daily instruction is finished and children have completed their daily work, they can go to the listening center and continue to work on building their phonics skills and reading comprehension skills. Improving these skills will enable my students to be successful in reading! My children need a great deal of phonemic awareness skills in order for them to be successful in reading for a lifetime! Once children have mastered phonemic awareness, they can eagerly move on to reading comprehension.
