Having students coming into my office daily, it is important to have an environment that is accepting, comfortable, and inviting. I have chosen 2 twill bean bag chairs and 2 black large bean bags. These items will be used for my small group and individual counseling sessions where students will be able to sit on appropriate kid furniture and not at a conference room table. Having a comfortable environment can make it easier for students to open up about uncomfortable situations which may be causing academic or social/emotional barriers to learning. Having a space that is inviting, makes students feel more comfortable visiting me over and over... which I love! I hope you will also see the importance of this project!
