Students who are striving readers, often have other challenges, such as attention or sensory processing issues, and difficulties with executive functioning. One of the best ways to support neurodiverse learners in the classroom, is by providing flexible seating options! Students need the opportunity to move around, experiment with what feels best to their bodies while working, and to feel empowered by having a choice in their learning environment. The reading intervention I provide, incorporates daily work on a device. Having access to these stools, portable lap desks, and balance ball chairs, will help students feel comfortable and stay focused as they work!
