My students need an environment where they feel empowered. I try my best to give as many choices as possible throughout their day. My goal, and reason for this project, is to switch to a flexible seating plan to give them the choice of how they wish to learn. More and more teachers using this approach are seeing how beneficial it is to their learners. Teaching in an inclusion classroom, I want what’s best, and most effective, for all my kids! With these resources, I will be able to create an environment where my learners will know that their choice matters! Each new piece of furniture will create a new space in our room for the kiddos to use. The wobble stools will be available at the “tall table,” where students can either stand or use the wobble stool to work. The wobble cushions and low chairs will be available at the “low table,” for students who prefer to work closer to the ground. The stability balls will be available for kids who need to bounce while they work. And the couch will be used for kids to collaborate during shared reading activities.
