The students use them during transitions and calming breaks to help with self-regulation and engagement. The toys have become a valuable tool for supporting attention and reducing anxiety—especially for students who benefit from tactile input or need help refocusing after challenging tasks. They've also sparked more cooperative play and communication among peers, as the students enjoy sharing and exploring the different textures and movements together.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the sensory toys, their excitement was immediate and contagious. Many were curious and eager to explore each item, feeling, squeezing, and experimenting to see how each one worked. For some, the toys offered comfort and a sense of control, while others expressed pure joy in discovering new ways to engage their senses.","fullyFundedDate":1759947834560,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-support-for-little-learners/9796385/","projectTitle":"Sensory Support for Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Batista","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7062198_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758844890744","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7062198"},{"teacherId":7062198,"projectId":9763335,"letterContent":"My students and I are using the new PBIS resources to encourage positive behavior and reinforce our school's expectations in fun and engaging ways. We have a \"school store\" where students can redeem the PBIS points they've earned for demonstrating kindness, respect, and responsibility. The store has become a motivating and hands-on way for them to see the value of their good choices. Each week, students take pride in counting their tickets and deciding how to spend them, which has sparked conversations about goal setting and making positive decisions both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nIn addition to motivating students, the new resources have helped us create a stronger sense of community. We've incorporated class discussions about the importance of earning PBIS prizes through teamwork and consistent positive behavior. Teachers use the resources to celebrate students collectively, which encourages peer support and reduces behavioral challenges. Overall, the PBIS store has turned our recognition system into something tangible and exciting, helping students connect positive behavior with meaningful rewards and pride in their school.","fullyFundedDate":1759539931360,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-good-behavior-with-pbis-prizes/9763335/","projectTitle":"Fueling Good Behavior With PBIS Prizes","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Batista","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7062198_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758844890744","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7062198"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68560","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":493,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":81.5,"schoolId":68560,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dingman - Delaware Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dingman - Delaware Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/delaware-valley-school-district/dingman-delaware-primary-school/68560"}
