My students need a classroom rug where there is a designated spot for them to come to. This will help with classroom management as well as provide security for students as some need to have their own space that will be be their own. I have tried using lesser quality rugs as well as just taping down names on the carpet but they don't last and students get upset when their names have gotten destroyed. I will be conducting the majority of my large group instruction on this rug. I have chosen this rug because I saw first hand during one of my classroom observations how it helped in classroom management, by providing enough space for each child to have their own spot. It also has enough room for a child to stand and move off the rug without disturbing other students that are sitting. I know this addition to my room will provide an organized large group space that is much needed.
