My students need more picture books available for them in the classroom. These picture books will serve as mentor texts for my students to read and learn different reading topics including inferencing, text structures, and many more. The school library does not have many of these books, and if it does many times other teachers have them checked out. With my own personal copies I will be able to use them to instruct my students and let them re-read the books whenever they want. I want my student's love of reading to grow. I believe by providing them with lots of different texts to read they will find more books that are interesting to them, they will continue to grow a love for reading and learning.
