After researching flexible seating, I have decided that my students would benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere that resembles a home setting. I have chosen a small loveseat and chair that I want to set up as a living room to allow the students to sit and have conversations with each other, teachers, and school counselors. My students struggle with stress and anxiety; dealing with such in a typical classroom is almost impossible. Our classroom is their safe place that they come to when they are overwhelmed and feel like they are about to lose control. The funds to complete this project is not available through our school system.
