Using STEAM education results in students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century! Studies have shown that kinesthetic learning, where a student carries out physical activities rather than listening to a lecture, is the most popular type of learning with students - 'doing' helps them to gain a better understanding of the material. As we venture into the unknown of education during the COVID pandemic, students need to experience the hands-on science that once enriched their minds in engaging ways in the best way possible. By having a mobile science lab station, I will be able to conduct labs with my 80+ students in person and virtually while traveling between classrooms with all of the necessary lab materials.
