My students start painting in the early grades and use basic principals learned to create wonderful pieces of art. As they progress and learn to manipulate paint they are encouraged to experiment with different materials and varying techniques. Introducing my students to printmaking will not only peak their interest and curiosity but allow them to include their favorite medium of paint in the process. My students will use these plates to create unique, one of a kind prints. They will experiment with the science of color mixing and gain knowledge of positive and negative space when using these materials. And, printing plates can be easily cleaned to create an unlimited number of versatile pieces of art.
