The purpose of this project is to expose students to the elements of acting and theater. Students will be able to participate in various theater games and activities. They will engage in with plays, scripts, and theatrical text. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to hone their improv skills. Young people deserve the opportunity to engage in fun extra-curricular activities that connect to academic standards. Research suggests that students who have access to quality art education become more well-rounded students, and often perform better academically. Theater in particular, has strong connections to reading fluency and comprehension. I am excited to see how this project impacts my students' educational experience.
