Getting our students prepared for the future includes teaching them to code. Students develop critical 21st century skills that go far beyond coding. Coding allows students to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills, the earlier they begin using these skills, the more opportunities for success will be open to them. Coding helps students understand complex and abstract concepts, The Osmo Coding Game provides students with physical coding blocks that they can manipulate physically and digitally at the same time. The bases are a necessary tool for the coding games to work and also for other OSMO learning games that we may want to use in the future. In addition to the technology skills students develop while coding, the research points to improved academic performance in math, writing, creativity, organization and communication skills. All of which empower students to be succeed both socially and academically in this brave new world!
