A class set of Ukuleles. For students to be able to play their own ukulele in the classroom setting would be AMAZING! The musical benefits of having a class set of instruments would allow us to go deeper into the musical standards. We will be better able to develop the whole musician. Imagine an elementary music class where you learn how to play a real instrument. The possibilities are endless. The impact that this project will have on our school culture and our community will be significant. I can hear our halls ringing with the sounds of Ukuleles and young voices now! Our students are serious musicians. They hunger for private music lessons. Unfortunately, the cost of lessons makes it out of reach for almost all our students. For them to be able to learn how to play the ukulele in music class would be a game changer for our community. Music is loved and valued at our school. Our classes are huge, running between 43 and 52 students.... we just need an instrument for each child.
