Students will be expanding their thinking skills, using their creativity, and exploring with our very own maker space. During this time students will be given challenges where they will compete against one another, solve real life problems, and some days they will be given free time to explore and play around with the materials provided. Maker spaces are designed to allow students to explore and have fun. They will be able to use the play-doh to model designs and create their own stories based on a sculpture. There will be challenge days where students will complete against each other. For example, a challenge may be to see who can use the genius blocks to build a machine that will pick up a pencil. Other days students will be put into teams and each can use the project books to come up with their own problem and use the tools that are available to solve that problem. This is going to be a space where students are given the freedom to explore and are encouraged to think outside of the box.
