It is so important to make reading engaging and fun right from the beginning. With this project, I plan to create a comforting reading nook for my students. Reading is so it is incredibly important in a students life and I feel I need to start the love of this skill young! Our classroom library is visited frequently and I would love to provide a calm and inviting area for my students to read comfortably instead of at their desks. With this project, my students will learn that reading can be a relaxing time and hopefully find enjoyment in it! We practice letter sounds and blending frequently in our classroom. Real-world application of skills is what helps students learn the most! I would love to give my students this opportunity to practice independently. We are also in need of a Morning Meeting rug so students can have clear boundaries and spend less time worrying about where to sit. Having this circle rug will help with circle time and staying focused on Morning Meeting time! The color printer will help provide materials for Morning Meeting to ensure students have visuals in the early stages of their reading!
