I will make connections with teachers in school districts such as Broward County, Pinellas County as well as other states such as Georgia and South Carolina. Together, we will pair students from our classrooms based on certain criteria to ensure that they have different things to share with one another. Some of the things they will be encouraged to share are the geographical details of their school such as the climate and historical events related to their school, city, or state. Finding a pen pal will create lasting memories and will allow my class to bond with students in other school districts, from different backgrounds, and learn to respect differences.Students will use the laptop to create designs and use the Cricut machineand accessories to create handmade greeting cards and letters to communicate with their pen pal. They will be required to send one letter or card to their pen pal once each quarter. This project will help to enhance students' writing techniques and communication skills. Hopefully, they will develop life-long friendships and have the opportunity to look back on the history of their pen pal relationship together.
