By putting chapter books into my 2nd grade students hands, we will be helping them with RL2.2, recounting stories to determine their central message or lesson, and RL2.3 which is describing how characters respond to events in stories. I want them to be pulled into the stories in ways that inspire them to discuss and dive deeper. I want them to feel motivated to want to take that step from reading picture books to reading chapter books. The best way to get them reading is to give them great choices for books.

About my class
