Kindergartners are coming in at four to five years old and alternative seating options will give them the opportunity to learn and wiggle. With changing expectations, children are required to sit and do reading and writing. Kindergartners need freedom to move and fidget when these requirements are put upon them. The ball chairs will be excellent for this purpose. Kindergartners cannot developmentally be expected to sit in one place and write and read all day. The garden pads will soften the floor on their knees and give them opportunity to explore and learn anywhere in our space. The couch will give them a sense of home as they are reading or being read to. This is furniture most homes have and having a couch the size of the children engages them and gives them new exciting perspective.
