The books I am requesting will inspire my students to learn about the world around them will giving our classroom library a much needed boost in books. Many of the books I am requesting are informational text at my students own reading levels. These books will serve as mentor text in my districts writing curriculum of Writers Workshop where my students are to use mentor text to write their own informational books. I have included many Spanish books about a mouse related to math concepts students learn in 1st grade, this will be an engaging and different way to get my students excited about math. To give my students a full experience in the enriching of a new language I have included a few classic real alouds in Spanish.
New books bring a whole new world to these students and into the classroom. With this project I hope to bring all of this excitement into the classroom and get my students excited to read books in Spanish at their level!
