There are numerous studies and teacher testimonials that advocate and cheer on the benefits of flexible seating. If a student is going to spend hours in the classroom and be productive learners I believe they should be comfortable too. Flexible seating choices such as wobble chairs and cushions it will give students an outlet to move a little while learning and still be able to focus on their work without being disruption to others. The comfy floor seats will give students to option to sit or lay nicely on the floor while learning as an additional option to sit on something other than a class chair they may find uncomfortable.
I will be stepping back into the class"home", and a new grade level after being a curriculum coordinator at my school for the past 3 years. I want to give my students the opportunity to explore different ways of learning that works best for them. I want to create a class"home". A home can have many places where a child can feel safe, comfortable, and productive. I hope to accomplish this through the donors choose program.
