This novel, "Wonder", will allow my students and I to have meaningful discussions about compassion and bullying. As a class we will read this book together, in pairs, and independently. We need educate our youth about acceptance of all. Unfortunately, bullying exists everywhere. And if this novel can help teach children the value of acceptance of our differences, I will have made a difference. This novel lends itself to so many thought provoking discussions. The book is told from different points of view of each character which lends itself to the discussions. By each child having their own copy this will also allow them to translate and share excerpts with their families at home around the dinner table. Which in today's world is missing in some homes. I believe this novel helps children to develop the love of reading for pure enjoyment. It's such an uplifting book to read.
