Kids love living things! Students will be motivated to come to class each day and check on the progress of these plants and sea creatures. My kids will compete to be honored with the privelage of setting up this amazing aquaterrarium. The research into what flora and fauna can coexist best will alone be enough to have them studying in their free time. Crayfish and snails and grasses galore, the kidlets will be begging me to check on our tiny ecosystems, all the while investigating the world's natural wonders! We will dedicate classroom time to monitor water levels, plant growth and animal health. Students will collect data and problem solve. This model will be an excellent real life tool we can apply to discuss cause and effect, systems and structure and function on Earth.
