One of the greatest thinkers in history, Albert Einstein, said, "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think." This quote drives the atmosphere of my fifth grade ELA classroom. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. The strong military presence in our town has infused our school with students who come from homes with deployed parents. We also serve a large number of students from low socio-economic households. Regardless of their home and background, each students enters my room ready to explore and expand their world through the acquisition of new knowledge. Their hunger for new reading materials and technology tools inspires me to create the atmosphere of exciting learning that these students desire. My scholars remind me that the future of our world is so very bright!
