My goal is to provide students what they need to learn within the classroom setting. Some students need to move around a lot, therefore I want to provide them with wobble chairs and cushions. These help students focus their hyperactivity and give them an outlet to move around appropriately. Sensory fidget toys are also great interventions for students to use in the classroom. When managed appropriately, these items help students engage with the class while satisfying their need for sensory stimulation. Guided meditation and deep breathing exercises are great ways to teach students how to cope with stress and anxiety. By using different tools to teach this, I am able to push into classes instead of pulling individual students out to help them. I am always trying new ways to help students while keeping them in their regular classroom. I believe this makes students feel more accepted and empowers them to use strategies on their own.
