Our bodies are meant for movement. Unfortunately the chairs in my classroom do not offer any movement. Even though the students rotate to different tables during reading, writing and math, they only get to choose to sit in chairs. Unfortunately these chairs do not offer any "active sitting". It is said that a "moving child is a learning child". Often times I see students trying to rock on their chairs, kneel on them or push them aside so they can stand. Sometimes their actions cause tipped over chairs or they fall off their seats. Wobble chairs offer strengthened core muscles, improvements in posture, and enhances concentration. I have researched that without movement the brain begins to tire and lose focus on the academic tasks. I feel like my students deserve a learning environment that provides subtle movements to help with their concentration to the academic tasks. I would love to have these stools in my classroom in hopes to create the best educational environment for my students.
