These books will continue to encourage my 8th grade students to become action-driven, justice-seeking, independent thinkers. Not only do I want to give my students access to as many books as possible, but it is imperative that they have access to texts that are relevant to their current lives and that help pave the way for a better future for them. Just Mercy is a text that will inspire my students and create an opportunity for learning and societal change. With this book, our classroom community can continue to grow far past the school building - and that is always the ultimate goal.
