Children thrive on play. Studies show that children reap positive benefits from physical play. Such advantages include increased attention span, higher productivity, and overall health. Using playground balls and jump ropes during gym and recess contributes to students' cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well being. When students take a brain break from their academics, it improves their state of learning and health. They tend to be less fidgety and more alert in the classroom. Children who tend to be inactive face a higher chance of obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Play should be a daily part of all children's lives.
