These sand sensory stations will allow for healing for many of our youth while providing opportunities in the classroom and restorative justice room. The African American doll set will support with diversifying the play tools in our social skills room and can be used by the children to express feelings and experiences in a non verbal way. Students will be able to engage in creative expression, build social skills, express thoughts and feelings when access to word formation is limited, engage in writing and letter formation, and allow for non directive play time. Sand trays have evidenced based positive academic and social outcomes which identify the benefit to youth who have access to them!
