Having the opportunity to sit or stand while learning is an invaluable part of education, even more so for students with learning disabilities and challenges. As a Special Education Resource Teacher, we do a lot of group work and small group instruction in class. Having tables makes small group instruction more intimate and accessible. In addition, having tables that can be adjusted to a stand-up height, provides students who need to move the opportunity to do so. Studies have shown, flexible seating provides many benefits such as increased motivation and engagement.
