I am a first year 1st Grade teacher. As the school year comes to a close I have reflected and I know what I need to ensure that next school year is successful. I need math manipulatives to bridge the gap and allow my students to practice the skills that I have taught. The Money Instant Learning Center will allow me to group my students according to their ability level to give them the much needed practice to help them master the concepts. With the Geostix, my students will have the chance to build and construct 2D and 3D shapes. This will give the time to understand and master constructing 3D objects. Lastly, I am requesting a Jumbo Magnetic Ten Frame to work on addition, subtraction and working with base ten and teen numbers. This ten frame kit is a must have for my daily math activities. Students learn best through hands on activities that keeps them actively engaged! I am working to build a first grade classroom that will equipt them with the tools to make this possible. I am excited to begin this journey into building a stronger math area of my classroom. Thanks for your support with this project.
