Writing is applying the theories we have been teaching about letters and sounds. It is an integral part of teaching and what cements the learning of letters and sounds. My kindergartners utilize white boards on daily basis for producing letters, words, sentences, and numbers. However, one draw back has always been the dry erase markers drying out. We go through so many markers every week and we spend so much money and time trying to purchase them and locate them. The LCD tablets will help my students practice writing letters, words, sentences, and numbers without using white boards and white board markers. My time will be spent focusing on teaching and guiding students instead of spending time trying to locate a dry erase marker. Also, the tablets will be more engaging with their colorful screens. My students will not waste any time looking for marker and making sure to close the lid tightly so it does not dry out. I know this might not be a problem for many, but it is very difficult for kindergartners. This project will allow my students to spend more time focusing on applying thier learning.
