In order for more students to participate in our percussion section, we will need more cymbals, snare, and tenor drums. This will keep us from limiting who can play based on the availability of instruments. Students will play more than one instrument. They will play each one and learn to read the music that goes with that particular instrument. They will learn to read and play rhythms, as well as scales on the keyboard and mallet instruments already in the classroom. Having more instruments will be a magnet to our program for additional students to participate. We want as many students involved in music as we can, so our program will be thriving and students can receive the opportunity for a quality music education.
