As we learn about tubes and tunnels, we use paper towel tubes, rolled paper, and video examples. The children were especially excited to learn how animals build tunnels underground. They enjoyed seeing videos of trains moving through tunnels. They loved building our very own marble run with my support to design and construct their creation. Children love legos! It will be wonderful to take what the children learn in our large group lessons and provide them with lego materials to build tunnels and tubes in centers. The lego kit will allow my students to build their own versions of tunnels independently and apply what they have learned as they play. The pieces are easy to assemble and age-appropriate, allowing for hours of fun and creativity by my future engineers.
