Our school is located in the middle of a pasture! Really! A rural school made up of farming and ranching families, many students do not aspire past high school, simply being content working the land or raising beef. While this tradition in itself is wholesome and honorable, these kids need to know their options, or at least know that an education beyond high school will enable them to do bigger and better things with whatever they choose to do with life, including being a better farmer, rancher, welder, hair stylist, etc. I do my best to give those options to them. I've convinced several to attend college, when they had no desire to upon entering my English classroom. I love these kids. I love their views, values, and sincerity. I just want to make sure they have every door open to them, and know it.
