The students that come into my classroom often have very unstable home lives. I teach in a very low-income district, and supplies are not always easy to come by. I often end up spending my own money, like most teachers do, to get my kids what they need. Oftentimes, this means pencils, pens, paper, binders, etc. My desire is to create a classroom environment that not only welcomes students in, but creates an atmosphere of stability while encouraging learning. By donating the funds for flexible seating that will be used to purchase ball chairs, wobble stools, and bean bags, you are helping me to create such an environment for them. A place where they can settle in and open their minds to new information, a place they can call home for the time we have together. That is my vision for this project.
