Our computer technology classes are part of a newer push for CTE classes at our school. While we are a smaller school, we do have many students interested in pursuing computers or technology as a career. We have older technology laptop computers for the students but need to be updated to support modern computing. They are very slow in starting and running, even though we have upgraded them to Windows 10. Our school does have Chromebooks, but they are mostly for core educational use, like writing essays. The Chromebooks do not run Microsoft Office and other business and technology application programs. We are expanding our career technology offerings at the school, but I feel that they will not learn as efficiently as they could with newer computers. We would like to eventually obtain 30 newer Windows computers running Windows 10. We will also be looking to get a computer cart for charging and to keep them secure.
