These Hokki stools will provide my students with Flexible seating options that allow them to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During Small group instruction they choose between a Hokki stool and a regular chair, whatever works best for them. Hokki stools will help my students that have a hard time sitting still while learning, many of my students’ battle with ADHD and other disorders that make it hard for them to sit still. Currently my students only have the choice of sitting in classroom chairs. Quite often they are tipping in their chairs which they fall out of and can hurt themselves. Having these stools would assist in students with movement needs and is an essential component in motivating them. I have observed positive changes in my students behavior and engagement when they are given a choice in their seating. When they are given a choice to move and be active while working their engagement, motivation to learn, and overall behavior improves and in turn they get more work completed. By donating to our project, you will not only be helping improve my students ability to focus and stay on task, you will be playing a big role in increasing their overall academic achievement. The product that I chose will assist my students by giving them additional seating options to promote movement and make more effective learning choices. The Hokki stools are sturdy, mobile and will allow students to sit at desk and while satisfying their need to move. Throughout my 13 year of teaching I have observed how choice can positively affect students work, attitude and behavior. I hope that these added seating options will assist my student with focus and motivation to meet their highest potential!
