My school is a high poverty school where all students receive free lunch and free breakfast. I want to create a classroom environment that promotes family and is welcoming to all students. My students come from very diverse backgrounds and face so many challenges at such a young age. They deserve a classroom that makes them feel safe and important while they are at school. These are two of the many things that go into helping provide a place for students to succeed. It is my mission as an educator to give the students a place where they feel like they are a part of a family, know it is okay to make mistakes, and a place they are excited to come back to every day. My classroom is somewhere the students can come and leave the worries of home behind so they can focus on the importance of their education and the many places their education can take them in life!
