In my class we utilize technology to enhance student understanding and learning past the four walls of our room. We are able to explore the world around us and contribute to our community utilizing laptops. We are a one-to-one laptop school; each student has a device brought from home or rented through the school and used on a daily basis. I am a fifth grade science teacher. The fifth grade science course curriculum explores the Scientific Method, the Design Process, Space and Technology, Measuring Matter, Ecosystems, and this year we have added a course of Project Lead the Way, focusing on Computer Science. Our school's mission is to provide customized 21st century experiences that ensure maximum student growth leading to productive citizenship in the world community. We strive to teach technical and ethical preparedness for the 21st century world of citizenship and gainful employment.
