Flexible seating such as a wobble or ball chair would be immensely helpful to my kindergarten students. Many of them have trouble sitting and need to move their little bodies. Chairs like these can provide movement while encouraging focus on learning activities. We do as many movement breaks as we can throughout the day and use music to inspire us, however I have some children with the extreme excess motor discharge that need to move all the time. When these children are not able to move, they are in some ways deprived of their learning, as they can't focus. This can lead to poor academics, behavior problems, and low self-esteem. Let's keep the learning, moving, and shaking going so my kindergartners can succeed!
