All of my students will learn about food chains through dissecting owl pellets. Owls are carnivorous and eat lots of small animals. Once their bodies have digested all they can, they regurgitate the remains in small pellets. These pellets will be dissected and examined by my students to determine what their owl ate. They will compare the bones to a chart and then compare with their table mates. They will engage in exciting conversation about their findings and then share them with the entire class. Help my students learn through a hands-on activity instead of only looking at pictures. They will be thrilled when they learn that they actually get to learn about food chains through a lab.

About my class
